Oliver is a 13 year old boy from Hotriot City whose Mother, Arie, dies suddenly. Before her death Arie gave Oliver a Doll. This doll named Drippy says that there is a chance he can find his mother in his world, since every person in Oliver's world has a counterpart in the world of Ni no Kuni.Doll reveals itself to be a small male fairy called Shizuku who passes on a magical book that allows him to see the world of the Ni no Kuni, a parallel reality running adjacent to his own.
The world of Ni no Kuni actually runs parallel to the real world. Players will be able to travel between the two. Characters who appear in one world appear in the other as well, but with different roles in this unique RPG experience.
Drippy reveals that access to this world means that Oliver may be able to revive his dead Mother. While in the world of the Ni no Kuni, he embarks on an adventure that he never thought possible, meeting several interesting and alternate versions of the people he knew.Along the way he encounters some extraordinary characters, many of whom become helpful allies.
They guide Oliver as he explores the vast world and learns the magical skills that will make him strong enough to face his most deadly foes, and ultimately survive an encounter with the White Witch herself.
